Dance

Lady Karissa loves to dance and she loves to sing and she loves to clap her hands and she has the true Pagan spirit that most Pagans have. They love dancing, singing, and music.

Lord Andrew Charles Howard is a wall-flower and he was born into a rigid aristocratic family that follows decorum and rules, but Lady Karissa will not adhere to these rules despite the fact that she is married into the Howard family.

Lady Karissa no matter where she goes and she feels like dancing and singing she just starts to dance, sing, and clap her hands and she twirls around and everyone watches her but she doesn’t notice that she has an audience.

Lady Karissa has been given the name of  The Girls that sits on top of the hill that overlooks Star-Fleet Academy.

When Lord Andrew Charles is busy with affairs of state. She dresses and walks to the hill that overlooks Star Fleet Academy and sits under the tall oak tree and she turns on her radio and when a good old song comes on her radio she just stands up and starts to dance,sing, and she starts to clap her hands.

Lady Karissa starts to dance and sing and she is happy and she loves twirl and dance and she tells Kevin and Thomas when she was growing up her late mother made her take ballet and tap as a child and when she attended school in Maryland it was required for her take square dancing, ballroom dancing and modern dancing.

Lady Karissa decides to return to the hill that overlooks Star-Fleet Academy and she takes her blanket, a picnic basket and radio with her and she asks Barbara to take care of Lady Elizabeth and she starts to walk down the driveway and Lord Andrew Charles walks out from his window and wonders why Lady Karissa isn’t taking the Howard carriage and he doesn’t ask her why but he wonders where she is going.

Lord Andrew Charles calls Barbara into his study and asks her “Do you know where Lady Karissa went?”

“No, Lord Howard. I have no idea and she asked me to take care of Lady Elizabeth.” Barbara tells him and he dismisses her to return back to the nursery.

Lord Andrew Charles decides to wait and follow Lady Karissa as she gets farther away from Beltane Manor.

Finally, he orders his carriage to follow her and he asks the driver to drive slowly so she won’t expect anything.

Lady Karissa comes to the hill that overlooks Star-Fleet Academy and she starts to climb the hill and she comes to the tall, oak tree that overlooks Star-Fleet Academy.

She takes out her blanket, radio, and basket of food and she turns on her radio and she sits down and she sits propped up by the oak tree.

A group of students spot her and one says”  It is Karissa. She has  returned to the hill that overlooks Star-Fleet Academy.”

Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley and Lt Richard Williams are walking by and they look up and they see Karissa sitting under the tree where they used to meet and they smile “ I see Lord Andrew Charles couldn’t stop Karissa from returning.”

“Lord Preppy, as Karissa used to call her, knows better to stop her from doing anything.” Kevin tells his friend.

From a distance, Kevin sees the Howard carriage and he tells Lt Richard William “Looking who is coming , Lord Preppy. He decided to follow Karissa to her sacred place.” 

All the students watch Karissa sit under the tall, oak, tree and Lord Andrew Charles Howard walks to where Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley and Lt. Richard Williams is standing “ Do you know where Lady Karissa is?”

“If I knew I wouldn’t tell you.” Kevin tells him and he looks up and he sees Lady Karissa on top of the hill that overlooks Star-Fleet Academy and he is about to climb up the hill but Kevin stops him.

“Don’t go, Andrew Charles Howard. There is a reason why Karissa returned to this hill and if you wait you will see why?” Kevin tells him.

All of a sudden one of Karissa ‘s favorite songs is on the radio and she stands up and she starts to dance,sing and clap her hands and everyone smiles and says “ She is back where she belongs. “

Lt Kevin Thomas Riley tells him “You can take the hill away from the girl but you can’t take the girl away from the hill.” 

“This is where all the students at Star-Fleet Academy saw her first when she first arrived, before you interfered with her life.” Kevin retorts.

“No one wonders why Karissa calls you a stick in the mud and a stuffy runny nose aristocrat with a gold spoon stuck up your ass.” Kevin tells him with a laugh.

“I never told Karissa she couldn’t come to the hill.” Lord Andrew Charles tells Kevin and Richard
“She is free to come and go into any territory on Star Base 12.” 

“You will be the death of her, Lord Andrew Charles. One day.” Kevin tells him.

“Why don’t you aristocrats go somewhere else and let the ordinary people govern Star Base 12.” Kevin asks.

“Did you ever consider that some people don’t like the aristocracy, but they simply put up with it until a better form of government can embrace Star Base 12.” Kevin tells him.

“I know, I know, your great-great-grandfather settled here from  war-torn Planet Earth in 2159 and that was about 116 years ago.’ Kevin states.

“This is 2275 and times change.” Kevin states.

“Lord Patrick William Howard died in 2190 and that was about 85 years ago.” Kevin tells Lord Andrew.

Lord Andrew Charles doesn’t listen and he starts to climb up the hill and he stops when he sees Lady Karissa looking at him and she looks at him and she asks “ Did you follow me, Andrew Charles?”

“I wanted to see where you were coming too?” Lord Andrew Charles tells her.

“If I had wanted you to know I would have told you.” Lady Karissa retorts.

“I didn’t know you could dance and sing so well, Karissa .” Lord Andrew Charles tells her.

“It is a passion of mine, Andrew Charles and many Pagans have the talent and we use it to honor our Gods and Goddesses.” Karissa explains.

“You know Pagans believe in what The Books of Psalms states but not  in the same sense that the Judaeo-Christians do but we believe clapping our hands and making a joyful noise to our Gods and Goddesses to show them how much we love and honor them.’ Karissa tells them.

“Why do you think we have Beltane, Litha, Lammas, Mabon Imbolc, Ostara, Yuletide, so we can dance and sing but on Samhain, we honor our deceased ones and ancestors and remember them.” Lady Karissa tells Lord Andrew Charles.

“Why do you think we have different seasonal colors?” Lady Karissa states “Every season brings with it a change.’ 

Lord Andrew Charles looks at Lady Karissa and he tells her “ I don’t mean to intrude when you leave Beltane.” 

“I usually don’t leave Beltane, Andrew Charles, but today I decided to do so.’ Lady Karissa states, “Barbara is taking care of Lady Elizabeth.”

“Do you see you are causing a scene when you come to Star-Fleet Academy. These students know me and they used to see me sitting here every day.” Lady Karissa states.

“This is my hilltop.” Lady Karissa states “It is where I come when I want to escape.” with  everything said Lord Andrew Charles bows and tells her “ I will see you at Beltane Manor.”

“

I will be back later.’ Lady Karissa tells him and with that Lord Andrew Charles  starts to climb down the hill and he returns to his carriage and heads back to Beltane Manor.

Karissa sits back down on her blanket and she enjoys her free time away from Beltane Manor.
